ReConnecting

Perhaps because of the holidays, i have reconnected with several friends who i have not seen in months (for some, years). One realization as a result is that not only time but relationships are precious.
I have three friends whose relationships with their respective mothers have all been severely damaged- two as the result of death and one as the result of estrangement. i am a firm believer in the principle that one relationship affects others, but the case could not be more true than with one's mother. as an unpleasant result of the times in which we live, i have seen many people grow up apparently healthy without a father, but i can count on one hand the number of people who grew up healthy without a good relationship with his or her mother. Again, as i get older, i am more convinced than ever that one's self-image is greatly impacted by his or her relationship with his or her mother and that the love that he or she gives to the world is very much a reflection of the love that was received from his or her mother.
the Apostle Paul wrote that now abide these three faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love. i now write, now abide these three relationships with GOD, family and friends, and the greatest of these is GOD.
Consider how much you miss the relationship with your extended family during this holiday season, then how much you might miss friends from bygone days. Now consider the fact that God misses you in ways that cannot be calculated.
GOD wants to see you and hear from you this holiday season. Your Father misses you.

The Word from My CREATOR today is live your purpose! No longer is there any excuse to live otherwise. The motivation, the goal, the vision and the means are all there, it is now time to accomplish my mission. The Apostle Paul was very clear on what his mission was: "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Paul's mission was to know Jesus intimately, even in terms of Jesus' pain and suffering, because he cared that much about the man/messiah's life (and death and ressurection). What drives me like that? As a disciple of Christ, obviously, it should be the same, but i would not be honest if i said that it right now is. The driving focus and purpose right now is to become self-employed so that i can free myself to have the above as an option. But self-employment requires more faith and self-discipline than i now possess, so some character building is required. Lord knows i am willing if not yet ready!!

Today is a NEW day

it is an honor to wake up with the ability to know that i am alive. Yesterday was kind of a scatterbrained attempt to get something in writing, but today is my opportunity to let GoD know what it means to me to be HIS creation, HIS child. i will celebrate the life that i have been given by living as my CREATOR would have me and enjoying every breath. Feel that? That's life coursing through your veins, filling your lungs, engaging your brain, pulsing through your heart. GOD is good everytime you acknowledge it (and even if you choose not to). Please, i adjure you, enjoy HIM today in YOU!
